PART A: Brainstorm Session

Our group decided to meet on Vyew last night at 8 pm EST. The experience on Vyew was not ideal, but we were able to accomplish what we needed despite many technical difficulties. The first problem, was that the meeting would not open at the expected time. It was set to open at 8 pm and everyone was not able to make it in until 8:20 due to an error in the room. We ended up all making it in after Duane was able to send us a new room link. Once we got in and started speaking to each other there was an extremely distracting back feed noise coming through the microphones. The back feed would echo through my speaker into my microphone, and into each group member's speaker then through their microphones, so it was almost impossible to stop. We ended up needing to turn our speakers off and communicate with the type chat function on Vyew. Through the chat function we were able to accomplish our tasks, however even that chat dialogue box was not ideal. It was very small, so if several people wrote at once it you had to constantly scroll back through to catch up on the conversation. The scroll bar was not a typical scroll bar as it was very tiny and sometimes would skip over lines of dialogue. The shared document that we should have been able to type on, had text with uneven lines, so we ended up using a Google Doc instead. In the end, we all agreed that Vyew would not be our communication platform.

We did decide that we would create a tutorial on how to use a wiki. We divided the project into sections and assigned each section of work to a group member. We had one group member who has never responded to any emails and did not come to the Vyew meeting so a group member was going to contact Tammi about her status. The following roles were assigned for the project. I would create a wiki and add various features that would be helpful for a teacher to use with students in a classroom. Karen is going to create the powerpoint which will correlate with Duane writing the script about the wiki. Julie will be recording the script over the powerpoint and edit, which will complete our project. Everyone in the group seemed very happy with the direction of this project and look forward to the finished product!
